Participation concerns a real, identifiable contribution proportionate to EDIBLE FOREST's current needs: researching, documenting, comparing, preparing methods, knowing a territory, or bringing a verifiable skill.
Participating is not joining. Participation is a contribution to the project; joining means becoming a member of the association under the conditions set out in its legal bylaws, after a decision by the Bureau. This page offers neither a constituted territorial network, an automatic partnership, nor participation in an experiment already under way.

Research and seeds
EDIBLE FOREST rests on the identification, selection, acclimatization, reproduction, and transmission of natural edible resources—particularly reproducible seeds and plants—chosen for the nutritional and taste quality of the harvests they can produce.

Knowledge of living systems is necessary to prepare documented experiments, without presenting any result as established.

Harvest quality

Gabon is the first pilot territory envisaged, and Liberia the second envisaged stage. No implementation is operational at this stage.

A proposed site does not turn that place into an EDIBLE FOREST territory. No location is published as an implementation before a documented decision has been made and its actual conditions have been met.

How a proposal is examined
Every proposal is examined according to the same criteria, regardless of the personal importance claimed by its author.
- compatibility with the Public Constitution;
- real usefulness for the current state of the project;
- accuracy and verifiability of the information;
- identifiable function, responsibilities, and resources;
- human, living, territorial, and organizational consequences;
- respect for local knowledge and responsibilities;
- proportion between the action, the risks, and the resources;
- possibility of correction, suspension, or abandonment;
- absence of any fictitious promise, partnership, or achievement.
A proposal may be accepted for study, require further information, be deferred, or not be retained. The absence of an immediate response constitutes neither agreement nor commitment.
A proposed contribution constitutes neither a partnership, nor a mandate, nor a function within the Organization until a precise relationship has been explicitly established.
A contribution becomes useful when it connects a real function, an identifiable responsibility, and examinable consequences.
