INSTITUTIONAL ORGANIZATION

EDIBLE FOREST OAU

Organization of African Unity through the Living

« An idea for utopianizing the world through seeds, plants and territories. »

EDIBLE FOREST OAU imagines another way of uniting territories: not through domination, centralization or dependency, but through the Living, food, seeds, experimentation and transmission.

01 — Institutional architecture

A conceptual progression, not an already-existing architecture

Three levels, one shared method. OAU coordinates, EDIBLE FOREST SEEDS structures act within territories, and OUM remains a horizon to be built.

02 — World Seed Bank

A decentralized network — not a central vault.

The World Seed Bank is a living network of National and Territorial Banks, coordinated by EDIBLE FOREST OAU according to the OAU Protocol. Each territory remains responsible for its plant heritage.

Central functions

Protect the vision, establish the Protocol, list territories, connect the banks, organize traceability, preserve the memory.

Territorial responsibilities

Inventory, protect, experiment, reproduce, adapt, validate, conserve, disseminate and transmit results to the network.

Traceability

No dissemination without origin, lot, cycle, species and experimentation history.

What the Bank must not become

Neither a central vault, nor a speculative system, nor an imposed dependency.

03 — A living wealth

A living wealth

The seed does not replace money and is not a currency. It is proposed as a complementary wealth: the capacity of the Living to produce, reproduce and transmit food, territorial, cultural and economic value.

The seed does not replace money. It introduces a complementary, living, reproducible wealth.

04 — Intelligence and experimentation
« Intellectuence experiments to know. The Intelligence knows and experiments to directly know. »

EDIBLE FOREST proposes to create conditions allowing the knowledge of the Intelligence to be experimented in matter, then to observe, document and transmit the knowledge obtained.

The Intelligence

Knows the real possibilities of the Living. It experiments to directly know them in matter.

Intellectuence

Knows what has been observed, experimented, memorized. It seeks to know through analysis and hypotheses.

The intellectuant

Functions through intellectuence. It experiments by trial and error in order to know.

05 — OAU Protocol

OAU Protocol — methodological framework under development

The OAU Protocol is the common framework of all National and Territorial Seed Banks. Nine steps, one same commitment to rigor: no validation without experimentation, no dissemination without traceability.

06 — Plant adaptation

Exploring the possibilities of the Living

EDIBLE FOREST proposes to progressively experiment with the adaptation capacity of certain plants to new territories. The apple tree in Gabon is a conceptual example of such an envisioned experiment.

  • 1Identify the variety and its original conditions
  • 2Recreate a controlled environment close to the origin
  • 3Progressively modify factors toward the host territory
  • 4Reproduce best-adapted individuals over several cycles
  • 5Document and transmit the knowledge obtained
No adaptation result is currently claimed. No promise that any plant can grow anywhere.

07 — All territories of the world

Mapping the possibilities

This map does not represent an already-constituted network. It allows imagining the territories where the idea could be studied, adapted or experimented with.

Possible statuses: envisioned territory, relay sought, reflection in progress, possible experimentation, initiative under development, territorial data in preparation.

08 — Africa & diaspora

An African root, a possible transmission

Africa is, in this proposal, the root of the EDIBLE FOREST method. Its diaspora could, over time, connect this idea to other continents.

Root

Africa — first national and territorial banks

Diversity

No homogeneous representation: each territory is distinct.

Diaspora

Global human network linking Africa to every continent.

Horizon

Prepare the evolution toward OUM — World Unity through the Living.

09 — Territorial functioning

From territory to global network, never dispossessing territories.

Each Territorial Bank follows the same path: it inventories its resources, runs its cycles, validates locally, conserves, disseminates traceably, then transmits to the network.

Contribute to the reflection

Every action contributes to building a Territorial Seed Bank and the global EDIBLE FOREST OAU network.

« Unity through the Living is built seed by seed, territory by territory. »
  • Contribute to the reflection
  • Propose a study territory
  • Share an experience
  • Contribute a skill
  • Propose an experimentation ground
